This policy covers the ThrowPrint mobile app (iOS, and Android when released), published by Tiny Anvil Studios LLC ("we," "us"). By using ThrowPrint, you agree to the practices described below.
ThrowPrint stores all of your app data locally on your device, using standard on-device storage (AsyncStorage). This includes:
None of this is transmitted to us or to any server we control. It never leaves your device except through the in-app "Backup & Restore" feature, which lets you manually copy your own data out (as text) to save or move to a new device — that copy is created and handled entirely by you, not sent anywhere by the app.
If you type a person's name into a free-text field (for example, naming a course after someone), that text is stored locally the same way as any other course data — it is never sent off your device by ThrowPrint.
DiscIt-API (disc database). When you load the full disc list, the app makes a single, unauthenticated, read-only request to the public DiscIt-API (discit-api.fly.dev) to fetch disc names and specs. No personal information, device identifiers, or account data is included in this request.
OpenStreetMap Overpass API (course maps). When you pick a course from the app's built-in course list and start a round, the app makes an unauthenticated, read-only query to the public OpenStreetMap Overpass API (overpass-api.de, with overpass.kumi.systems as a fallback) to fetch that course's published hole layout for a small in-app map. The request contains only the selected course's public coordinates, which ship inside the app — it never contains your device's location, and no personal information or identifiers are sent. Course and map data are © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).
Open-Meteo (wind). When a round starts at a course picked from the app's built-in list, the app also makes an unauthenticated, read-only request to the public Open-Meteo weather API (api.open-meteo.com) for the current wind at that course, shown on the course map. Like the map lookup, the request contains only the course's public coordinates — never your device's location — and no personal information or identifiers.
ThrowPrint can use your device's location while you are using the app ("when in use") for one optional purpose: on the in-round course map, to mark where each of your throws lands and measure the distance between them. This is off by default and only happens if you turn on the map's "Auto-mark" toggle (or tap the pin on a logged throw). Your location is used entirely on your device — it is saved only inside that round's data on your device and is never sent to us or to any server, third party, or analytics service (we don't operate any). You can decline the location permission and use every other part of ThrowPrint normally, and you can turn it off any time in iOS Settings. ThrowPrint never accesses your location in the background.
RevenueCat & the App Store / Play Store. ThrowPrint uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and the Pro unlock. When you view pricing or make a purchase, RevenueCat's SDK communicates with RevenueCat's servers and, in turn, Apple's or Google's servers to validate your purchase. This involves:
We never see or store your payment details (card number, billing address, etc.) — those are handled entirely by Apple/Google and RevenueCat. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Apple's/Google's own privacy policies for how they handle this data.
The "Share" feature generates an image of your round summary on your device and opens your phone's native share sheet so you can choose where to send it (Messages, Instagram, etc.). ThrowPrint itself never uploads or transmits that image anywhere.
ThrowPrint does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because the app has no accounts, ads, analytics, or data collection of any kind, there is no personal information to collect regardless of a user's age.
Since your round/bag/stat data lives only on your device, you're always in control of it:
Because we don't collect or store this data on our own servers, there is nothing on our end to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — it's already entirely in your hands.
If ThrowPrint's data practices change (for example, if we add cloud sync or accounts in the future), we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above, and — for any material change — provide notice in the app.
